Case Study
In 2008, the Invest in Canada Bureau of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada was at the early stages of an investment promotion strategy and was looking for a research-based marketing agency with the depth of expertise in the investment promotion arena to help it develop its brand through a Flagship Report.
The target audience for this report was C-level executives at overseas companies with authority over their company’s decisions to invest in plants and operations.
How IE Market Research Corp. helped?
For three years in a row (2008 - 2010), IE Market Research Corporation was contracted by the Invest in Canada Bureau to develop Canada’s first, second, and third Flagship Reports on foreign direct investment.
In these reports, IEMR provided current and potential
foreign investors with in-depth research on Canada’s value propositions as an investment destination, all packaged in excellent marketing collateral. The reports covered a wide variety of industries ranging from Aerospace to Biotechnology, and required extensive and detailed research on what Canada has to offer to firms in various industries.
Together with the project team at the Invest in Canada Bureau, IEMR worked independently on both the written content and the design work for these projects. IEMR’s researchers, writers, graphic designers and printers worked effectively to produce excellent publications for the client. We were also responsible for producing summary reports and producing translations of reports in eight different languages, including: Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, German, Dutch, and French.
The Flagship Reports form the core of the client’s annual marketing push. Based on IEMR’s international experience in the investment promotion arena, with clients including agencies in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and Canada; IEMR was able to take the client’s existing print and on-line collateral to new levels.
All of this was achieved by approaching the file from a classical marketing research perspective with branding and graphic design being complemented with IEMR’s deep research expertise on location and place branding.
