Linx

IEMR has consistently delivered a high level of service across a broad range of research projects for us – most notably for regional communication market analysis.

They offer all the benefits of a large research agency but still retain the personal touch of a smaller consultancy. IEMR's staff are never afraid to challenge a brief and approach a problem from a new angle with a flexible ‘can do’ attitude, which is refreshing from a client’s point of view.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada

In 2006, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s (AAFC) International Branding Management Unit contracted with IE Market Research Corp. (IEMR) to provide branding strategy advisory services for AAFC’s international branding program. The objective of AAFC’s international branding program is to increase international market share of Canadian food products, and ultimately to make Canada a world leader in food safety, innovation, and environmentally-responsible production of agri-food products.

From 2006 – 2008, IEMR provided us with comprehensive analyses and strategic advice on multiple international surveys conducted on behalf of AAFC by third-party data collection agencies. These survey-based datasets contained a large volume of model-based information covering consumers and corporate food buyers in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Russia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. IEMR was required to not only perform econometric and statistical modeling of the data, but also provide us with valuable marketing and positioning strategies based on their in-market expertise.

IEMR’s excellent work made significant contributions in providing guidance to our market development efforts in overseas markets. IEMR’s staff delivered superior statistical analysis of what were fairly complex surveys and has an excellent ability to go beyond the model to provide strategic marketing and positioning advice. We could always rely on IEMR to answer our questions on their research and to provide strategic guidance to our management and field staff.

Overall, we are pleased with the quality of both the verbal presentations and reports we received IEMR and would recommend IEMR’s services to other clients.

Ministry of Technology, Trade and Economic Development, Government of British Columbia, Canada

In January 2008, the International Partnerships & Programs Branch at the Ministry of Technology, Trade and Economic Development contracted IE Market Research Corp. (IEMR) to produce new media sector opportunity profiles in our four priority Asian markets—Japan, South Korea, China, and India. We tasked IEMR with producing research on a wide range of verticals within the new media sector, including: Digital Entertainment & Games, Digital Film & Animation, E-Learning, and Mobile Content & Applications. The objective of this project was to assist BC-based new media firms to assess opportunities in Asia.

In order to provide accurate field-level information on these rapidly expanding new media sectors, IEMR conducted desk research and, through its partners in the field, undertook telephone interviews of executives at relevant local new media firms. Using its expertise, desk research and field research capabilities, IEMR was able to provide us with comprehensive information that we hope will help new media firms in British Columbia enter these Asian markets.

After completing the research and first written drafts for this project, IEMR was also responsible for collaborating with our editing and graphic design team to ensure that the final documents were in high-quality, print-ready formats.

We can always count on IEMR to integrate our suggestions into their work, and we were pleased with the final product we received. IEMR delivered its services on time and within budget and the quality of their research was impeccable. We would recommend their services to other clients without hesitation.

BC Business Magazine

IE Market Research (IEMR) was first contracted by BC Business Magazine (BCB) in August 2006 to provide assistance in creating our Power List, a list of local power brokers in British Columbia. For this project, IEMR formulated the interview questionnaire and successfully conducted phone interviews targeting the business community in British Columbia. This helped us identify the most influential individuals in a wide range of sectors ranging from the technology to the retail sectors in British Columbia.

Following the successful completion of the first project, the relationship between BCB and IEMR evolved. In December 2006, BCB contracted IEMR for a cover article where we wanted to get a better sense of the views of British Columbians on the future of their province’s economy. The respondents demonstrated a very strong concern over climate change long before this became an important issue in Canadian politics, and IEMR quickly responded to these surprising results with an insightful analysis.

More recently, in October 2007, we contracted IEMR again to conduct an online survey of Chinese executives on their perceptions of a number of cities in North America, including Vancouver. The results of this survey were an indispensable contribution to our story on Vancouver as a Pacific Gateway city and was the first survey of its kind on the views of Chinese executives on various North American cities.

In all of these projects, IEMR was quick to respond to our suggestions, and provided excellent analyses of the results of their surveys. We could always rely on the validity of their survey results as well as the quality of their commentaries. Overall, IEMR consistently delivers results that exceed our expectations. I would happily recommend their services to other clients.

Vancouver Airport Authority

IE Market Research (IEMR) was contracted by Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR) in February 2007 to conduct market research for potential demand and pricing of a non-stop flight from YVR to New Delhi, India. The objective of this research was to provide us with material that we could use to make a business case to airlines on the feasibility and profitability of such a venture.

To tackle this task IEMR created a dynamic 20-minute online survey of 1,000 British Columbians, along with 100 BC-based business executives from IEMR’s online consumer and business panels. Five prominent business executives whose firms had operations and interests in India were also interviewed by IEMR in order to gather more specific, potential high-end customer information. The surveys and interviews focused on gathering traveler preferences and patterns, as well as prices customers would be willing to pay for such a service.

Upon completion of the survey IEMR provided us with a crisp 30-page presentation of the facts. The presentation highlighted top-line survey results on travel patterns and preferences on factors such as flight times, price, and safety. IEMR then took the findings a step further, offering analysis of the market size for a YVR-DEL route and price elasticities and demand curves for economy and business class segments. These were especially useful when making our business case to various airlines who were interested in undertaking a YVR-DEL route.

IEMR made sure that YVR’s Aviation marketing team was kept up to date during the entirety of the project. They worked closely with us in developing and fine tuning the survey questionnaire and focused their analysis in areas we requested. Given the tight timelines (6 weeks between project initiation to final presentation), IEMR was very responsive to any feedback we had to offer on various aspects of the project.

Working with IEMR was a pleasure and we would recommend their services to anyone. The findings they presented us with have been very useful to our business development efforts and helped position YVR as an important North American gateway for the India market. Their analysis was robust and allowed us to present a unique business case of YVR to our clients. We would certainly consider contracting them in the future.

New Media British Columbia

In January 2007, New Media B.C. (British Columbia’s Digital Media Industry Association) contracted IE Market Research (IEMR) to provide market intelligence on the new media industries in China, South Korea, and Singapore. This research was commissioned in the lead-up to a trade mission we were leading, which had the goal of identifying strategic partners in each of these three Asian markets for British Columbia’s digital media enterprises.

We received three strategic market intelligence reports, one for each country, that were 40-50 pages in length each. The reports contained strategic summaries for each of the five new media sectors we wanted covered (these were digital entertainment & games, digital film & animation, mobile content & applications, interactive design, and e-learning). For each sector, IEMR also provided us with at least 5-10 major companies and their company description, size, contact information, and information on their international partnering status.

Working with IE Market Research was a hassle free and pleasurable experience. Working under severe time constraints, IEMR made sure that New Media BC was provided with drafts of reports as they progressed so we could see what the work looked like. IEMR was attentive to our feedback and made sure it was reflected in the market intelligence reports.

These reports gave us an idea of what each sector of the industry was like and helped us plan out what companies and organizations we needed to talk to while on our trip. The sector summaries were also of great help since they gave us an overview of the sections of each industry and a general idea of what to expect of them. The company information was especially useful to our member companies, giving them useful intelligence to help look for and contact potential partners.

IE Market Research provided us with a market intelligence product that we were very happy with and that has been a great asset to us in our visits to Asia. We at New Media B.C. recommend their services to anyone needing international market intelligence work done for them, particularly in the context of digital media and high-tech sectors.

Storage Solutions, Inc.

In April 2007, Storage Solutions Inc. contracted IE Market Research (IEMR) to provide market intelligence on potential demand for the self-storage market in downtown Vancouver. This research was commissioned in order to help us improve our business model, get a better understanding of our potential market, and arrive at the optimal location for our offering.

IEMR created a dynamic 20-minute survey for us that was administered to 2,000 residents in Vancouver by IEMR. After the completion of the survey we received a strategic market intelligence report that encompassed all aspects of the research conducted by IEMR. The report contained statistical analysis of the survey results with market demand forecasts, price elasticities, and highlighted key issues core to our business strategy.

Throughout the project IEMR ensured that we were kept up to speed and that we were able to provide feedback on areas such as the survey questionnaire. They were very responsive to our feedback and adjusted their survey accordingly to better capture the information we felt was essential.

The market intelligence report gave us solid information that helped us confirm our current intuition as well as further refine our business model. IEMR’s demand forecasts helped us get an idea of the number of customers we could expect in each of our market segments and how to prepare our business model accordingly. The other key issues highlighted in the report also helped us see how certain aspects of our business model might affect our customer base.

The final product given to us by IE Market Research exceeded our expectations. The work they provided us with has been a great help to our business. We believe you will be hard-pressed to find higher quality work. Storage Solutions Inc. would gladly contract IEMR in the future and would recommend their market research and consulting services.
